Mini Nubian Goats
The Perfect Homestead Companion
At Paradise Found, we raise Mini Nubian goats—a thoughtfully bred cross between the full-size Nubian and the Nigerian Dwarf goat. These medium-sized dairy goats combine the best of both worlds: rich, nutritious milk, a friendly temperament, manageable size, and undeniably charming looks.
🌿 Why We Chose Mini Nubians
As a microfarm focused on sustainability, hands-on education, and high-quality natural products, the Mini Nubian goat fits our goals beautifully:
High Butterfat Milk: Mini Nubians produce creamy, sweet milk ideal for raw consumption, cheese-making, and our luxurious goat milk soaps.
High Protein Content: Compared to many other dairy goat breeds, Mini Nubians deliver milk with higher protein levels, maximizing nutritional value and flavor.
Less Allergenic: With up to 20% less lactose than cow milk and smaller fat and protein molecules, Mini Nubian milk is often more digestible for people with dairy sensitivities.
Perfect Size for Homesteads: They’re larger than Nigerian Dwarfs (which can be challenging to milk), but smaller and easier to manage than full-size Nubians—ideal for small acreages like ours.
Friendly & Curious Temperament: Social, affectionate, and smart—Mini Nubians love human interaction and are a favorite with guests during our farm tours and baby goat experiences.
Excellent Milk Producers: These goats are excellent converters of forage into high-quality milk. Their dietary flexibility and adaptability to native plants help maintain consistent milk quality and volume.
Longer Lactation & Reliability: Compared to Nigerian Dwarfs, Mini Nubians tend to have longer lactation periods and steadier production. Great for soap-making and seasonal offerings.
📏 What Makes a Mini Nubian
A true Mini Nubian is a carefully bred cross between a Nubian and a Nigerian Dwarf, selected for:
The signature pendulous ears and gentle Roman nose of the Nubian
The high butterfat milk and moderate size
Good parasite resistance and friendly personalities
Over generations, this cross creates a reliable, versatile, and beautiful goat that fits perfectly into homesteading, dairy production, and agritourism settings.
